The Spoken Word
Good Hair is My Hair
This campaign was meant to combined a technology with a brand while also addressing a critical social issue that needs greater representation. Through the use of the spoken word poem, we were able to create a personal and relatable message that raised awareness to the social prejudice against black hair.
The concept behind these ads was to use phrases that Black women with curly hair might hear on a daily basis, both positive and negative. By playing with language in this way, the campaign aims to challenge and subvert harmful stereotypes and celebrate the beauty of natural hair.
